All businesses have the same goal - to create a customer and to keep that customer. Profitable businesses have an additional goal 每 to make money.

The only reason any customer buys something is because your service or product gives them some improvement or advancement.

So, for you to succeed in anything 每 whether it is your job or in your business, you will succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed. If you are employed, if you help your boss succeed, you will be noticed and you will be valued. Hopefully this means a promotion and a pay rise. If you are in your own business, your customers will buy from you if they perceive that your product or service adds value or improvement to their lives.

For you to succeed in business, identify that special way that you can improve another*s life and help them succeed. In this way, you create a customer and you keep a customer.

There are numbers of books written on how to succeed in business 每 whether it is giant corporations or small business. I have listed a number of books as reference and as acknowledgements at the back of this book.

Success means Planning and this involves thinking ahead!

The 7 Step Method

The secret to successfully actioning your ideas is to follow a straightforward 7 Step method:

1. It*s all about You. The key is the right mental attitude. You need to be what your business needs you to be. Think and behave like a successful business person. What are your skills? What do you want to do? Determine where you are now and what you want to earn. Why do you want to be in business?

2. What ideas will be profitable. Begin with a list of 20 workable ideas. From this list, determine one that can be started quickly, with immediate returns from your efforts and current skills. Learn how to cull the selection to determine which is most profitable.

3. Money, it*s all about free cash flow. Learn the fundamentals of the numbers you will need to know to run a successful business. What do you need to earn as a minimum? How will you repay debt? You need to make sure your business generates free cash flow 每 that*s the money for you.

4. The road map for your business. Always begin with the end in mind. If you do not know where you are going, how will you get there?

5. Building an asset, something of worth.

6. Marketing without money.

7. Make it happen!
